On 30 October 2026, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation and Standardization Administration announced approval and publication of GB/T 48536—2026, Intelligent manufacturing — Business management specification for smart factories in process industries. The standard takes effect on 1 May 2027. Raycus participated as one of its drafting organisations. The standard falls under the technical responsibility of the National Technical Committee on Industrial Process Measurement, Control and Automation of Standardization Administration of China, TC124, with the China Machinery Industry Federation as the responsible industry organisation.

The standard sets out a business-management framework for smart factories in process industries. It covers management requirements and methods across research and design, production, operational support and supply-chain collaboration. Its intended users include petrochemicals, coal chemicals, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, building materials, non-ferrous metals and food processing: industries characterised by continuous or batch production. It provides a basis for establishing, operating and assessing smart-factory business-management systems and is intended to support consistent development, digital transformation and greater industrial intelligence.

Smart factories are an important part of manufacturing’s digital transformation. Raycus says it has continued developing its intelligent-manufacturing system, established what it describes as China’s first intelligent fiber-laser production line and was included in the national list of excellence-level smart factories in 2025. Its participation in drafting the standard brings its laser-manufacturing and factory-development experience into national standardisation work.

Raycus says it will continue its innovation-led development strategy, deepen digital applications in research, manufacturing, operations and services, and improve its intelligent-manufacturing capabilities to support smart factories in process industries and broader manufacturing development.
