A MOPA source can offer adjustable pulse duration and repetition frequency, but a list of adjustment ranges is not a process recipe. Start with the material, marking depth or surface result, cycle-time target and acceptable thermal effect.

Ask the manufacturer to identify a compatible operating point that states average power, pulse energy, pulse duration and repetition rate together. Check whether the quoted values are nominal, typical or guaranteed. Do not combine the highest pulse energy from one condition with the highest repetition rate from another.

Record the complete model code. Product families may contain variants with different supplies, fiber interfaces and cooling methods. Keep sample-processing results linked to that exact configuration and material batch.
