On 3 March, Tiangong International announced that its indirect wholly owned subsidiary Jiangsu Tiangong Investment Management Co., Ltd. had completed an investment in Shanghai Gaize Laser Technology Co., Ltd. on 3 September 2025. Tiangong Investment agreed to subscribe for 294,367 new shares for RMB 3 million.

On 3 March 2026, under the terms agreed on 3 September 2025, Tiangong Investment agreed to a further RMB 3 million subscription for 293,869 new shares at the agreed valuation. Following completion, the group’s interest through Tiangong Investment would increase from 5.56% to approximately 10.53% of Shanghai Gaize’s enlarged registered capital.

Shanghai Gaize develops intelligent laser solutions, core components, wear-resistant cladding materials and laser additive remanufacturing services. Its capabilities include laser cladding, laser spraying including high-speed cladding, 3D printing and equipment integration. Supporting services cover alloy-powder formulation, metal microstructure analysis and evaluation, equipment selection, process development, integration and maintenance.

Mold repair is one application for laser cladding. The group’s investment rationale estimates that 70% of molds can be repaired and identifies an opportunity for specialist, high-precision services beyond small repair workshops. Technologies such as AI inspection, laser cladding and additive repair are seen as potential differentiators in the advanced mold-service market.

The group cited Shanghai Gaize’s established cladding and additive-remanufacturing capabilities and its position in mold services as reasons for a second investment. The additional funds are intended to support working capital, faster technology development and equipment investment, and an industrial-scale intelligent mold-service network. The objective is to develop a specialist, scaled and automated repair-service capability.

Tiangong expects cooperation with Shanghai Gaize, the group’s customer relationships and its existing mold-service partners to improve access to end users and support deeper service within this specialist market.
